In this project, I focused mainly on software development, not hardware development. The hardware setup for the RadioScope is basically the same as stated in EE281 Lab #3, when we wired the 6811 to the external nonvolatile RAM. The only additions are some LEDs connected to port A of the 6811, to display operational status; a null modem adapter between the serial port on the EVBU and the RadioScope's external serial connector; binding posts for analog inputs wired directly to the analog inputs of the 6811; and power input to the EVBU through an on/off switch and voltage regulator.

• M68HC11EVBU Universal 6811 Evaluation Board which contains a 68HC11 microcontroller, as well as an RS232 driver for communications with the Ricochet radio
• Dallas Semiconductor DS1225Y 8KB nonvolatile static RAM for program and data storage
• Motorola 74HCT573 octal latch for extended memory support
• AMD PALCE22V10 programmable logic for extended memory support
• 5 LEDs and 100-ohm resistors to display sampling and communications status
• assorted connectors for inputs, power, and radio
